2023 Medicare Deductibles & Copays

CMS recently announced 2023 monthly premium, deductible and co-pay amounts for Medicare Part A and Part B.

The 2023 standard Medicare Part B monthly premium will be $164.90. This is a decrease of $5.20 when compared to the 2022 monthly premium of $170.10.  This amounts to a 3.0% decrease, after a 14.5% increase last year.

The annual Part B deductible for 2023 is $226, down from $233.

The Part A deductibles and coinsurances will increase 2.8% for 2023, after an increase of 4.9% in 2022.

CMS mentions that last year’s large Part B increase was to account for expected higher Part B spending on the new drug Aduhelm. Actual Part B spending ended up being lower than projected.
